For admission to Engineering and Architecture/Planning programmes, Government of India vide Resolution dated 18th October 2001 has laid down a Three – Exam Scheme (JEE and AIEEE at the National Level and the State Level Engineering Entrance Examinations (SLEEE) for State Level Institutions – with an option to join AIEEE). This takes care of varying admission standards in these programmes and helps in maintenance of professional standards. This also solves problems of overlaps and reduces physical, mental and financial burden on students and their parents due to multiplicity of entrance examinations.

Qualifying AIEEE gets you admitted to NITs, IIITs and many other prestigious institutions. The Union Cabinet approved the setting up of 9 new National Institutes of Technology (NITs) taking the number to 29 across the country.

The States/Institutes listed below used AIEEE-2009 ranks to fill seats through their own counselling:- West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab University, Chandigarh, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar, Army Institute of Technology, Pune, 15% all India quota for D C E/ N.S.I.T, Delhi under Delhi University.

Important Points

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.

Scheme of Examination

1st paper – consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for BE/B.Tech courses.

2nd paper – consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for B. Architecture and B. Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate’s perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.
